PILOT Corporation is a comprehensive writing instruments manufacturer engaged in the manufacturing and sale of fountain pens, ballpoint pens, mechanical pencils, markers, and other products.
In addition to the above, we operate businesses in which we apply our technologies for manufacturing writing instruments.
These include stationery goods, such as planners and notebooks, as well as toys, ceramic products, and rings.
The founders, Ryosuke Namiki and Masao Wada, had a dream of bringing Japanese products to the world that they could take pride in. Working together through hardships, they succeeded in processing pen points, the most important part of fountain pens, and developed Japan’s first fountain pen made entirely in Japan.
Since our founding in 1918, we have been manufacturing fountain pens and have produced many innovative products, including the world's first capless fountain pen 'Capless' and the erasable ballpoint pen 'FRIXION.'
We aim to leverage the technology derived from writing, which has been cultivated over the past 100 years, to support people, society, and culture in fields beyond writing.
