Compliance
Basic Compliance Provisions
Grounded in the fundamental management philosophy of San-Sha-Tei-Ritsu: Three forces in balance with each other, one of PILOT’s guiding principles, the Company established the PILOT Group Code of Conduct as a common code of conduct within all of the PILOT Group, ensuring that compliance is prioritized in all actions by familiarizing all officers and employees with the conduct that should be taken.
Systems to Promote Compliance
The Company and its main subsidiaries in Japan promote routine compliance, led by the compliance promotion leader in each division under the supervision of the compliance officer.
Further, the other subsidiaries in Japan and overseas adhere to the company’s basic principle on internal control systems to promote and encourage compliance with the suitable details and methods tailored to each circumstance.
Compliance Training
Once a year, our Compliance Promotion Department issues a Compliance Guide to educate compliance promotion leaders and raise employee awareness.
In addition, the Group provides education and training on laws, regulations, and internal rules that must be complied with in order to establish the knowledge of compliance necessary for business operations.
Internal Reporting System
The PILOT Group has introduced an internal reporting system for the prevention and early detection of misconduct, including acts of noncompliance with laws, regulations, internal rules and the codes of conduct, corporate ethics, and corporate social responsibility, and to improve the Company’s ability to eliminate internal issues and ensure public trust.
The Company has established three contact points for internal reporting: an internal hotline, an external hotline, and a hotline to the Audit and Supervisory Committee.
Corruption Prevention
The Pilot Group has established this policy in order to prevent all forms of corruption, including bribery, and to earn the trust of society by acting with integrity and high ethical standards.
Risk management
Risk management system
The PILOT Group performs risk and crisis management in normal times and implement emergency risk and crisis management in accordance with the PILOT Group Risk Management Regulations and the Enterprise Risk Management Regulations based on the Basic Internal Control Principles.
In addition, we established a Risk Management Committee on July 1, 2024 and it meets regularly.
The committee centrally manages risks surrounding the Group, shares information about identified risks, and discusses assessment of them and policy regarding their handling.
The committee determines measures to address risks which are important to the Group, supervises the implementation of these measures, and gives instructions regarding these measures.
