PILOT CORPORATION (the “Company”) is pleased to announce that CACORNE colored pencils for children were awarded the 20th Kids Design Award.
CACORNE pencils feature the Company's proprietary core that produces deep, vivid colors even with a gentle touch, allowing small children that cannot apply a lot of pressure to a pencil the ability to make bold expressions like crayons. The pencils can also write on plastic surfaces and bags in addition to paper, allowing children to foster their curiosity and creativity without limits, drawing on whatever they like. In recognition of these features, CACORNE pencils were awarded the Kids Design Award in the design for developing children's sensitivity and creativity division.

About the Kids Design Award
The Kids Design Award is an awards system established in 2007 to recognize products, services, spaces, activities, and research that contribute to realizing four key principles: “Children will participate in building the next society.” “Children will grow up with rich sensibilities and creativity.” “Children will live their daily lives safely and securely.” “Everyone will participate in raising children as a stakeholder.” The award also aims to widely promote these outstanding initiatives throughout society. The award consists of four divisions: Design for children's participation and involvement, design for developing children's sensitivity and creativity, design for improving children's safety and security, and design for childbirth and child-rearing support.
